Valiyavila Foundation is a Registered Charitable Trust, Established by Dr. Joseph D. Fernandez, Reg. No. IV – 66 in 2001 and it has completed 20 years of its operations in various fields, mostly in education. There are nine trustees in this Trust who manage its operations.The Trust works in several villages of Kollam District.In Kumbalam Village it is known as St. Joseph International Academy, following ICSE syllabus, in Chittumala, it is known as St. Joseph International School, following CBSE syllabus and in Muttam, it is a state syllabus school called St.Joseph Model LP School.
More than one thousand students attend these schools, which aim to mold at least one hundred socially responsible leaders for the nation.We have a four storey hostel with over 45 rooms in the Kumbalam Campus housing students and staff. We also have approval for a B.Ed college and D. Ed too.
As an added initiative, in memory of the completion of successful 20 years, Valiyavila Foundation came forward with the latest project named ST. JOSEPH HOMES led by St.Joseph Group of Institutions. Our parents, teachers, students, well-wishers and the public at large are involved in the fund raising, selection of the candidates, and management of the construction.The hole project is supervised by a 14 Members Managing Committee comprised of two current students, two former students, two teachers, two parents, three principals, two trustees and one building contractor.
Under this project , in a year at least one house, with two bedrooms, one kitchen, one living room, one bathroom and sit out will be provided to the most deserving poor family residing near the schools.We plan to complete the whole construction of each house, which will cost over Rs. 7 lakhs before July 15, the day which is celebrated as Founder’s Day by St. Joseph group of institutions every year.

2001 മാണ്ടിൽ ഡോ. ജോസഫ് ഡി. ഫെർണാണ്ടസ് സ്ഥാപിച്ച രജിസ്ട്രേഡ് ചാരിറ്റബിൾ ട്രസ്റ്റാണ് വലിയാവിള ഫൗണ്ടേഷൻ, Reg. No. IV – 66. 20 വർഷത്തോളം കാലം വിവിധ മേഖലകളിൽ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ നടത്തിവരുന്ന ഈ ട്രസ്റ്റ്, കൂടുതലും വിദ്യാഭ്യാസരംഗത്താണ് ഊന്നൽ നൽകുന്നത്. ഈ ട്രസ്റ്റിന്റെ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ നിയന്ത്രിക്കുന്നത് ഒമ്പത് ട്രസ്റ്റികളാണ്.കൊല്ലം ജില്ലയിലെ നിരവധി ഗ്രാമങ്ങളിൽ ട്രസ്റ്റിന്റെ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങൾ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു. അഷ്ടമുടിക്കായലിനോട് ചേർന്ന് കുമ്പളം വില്ലേജിൽ സെന്റ് ജോസഫ് ഇന്റർനാഷണൽ അക്കാഡമി എന്ന ഐ. സി. എസ്. ഇ. സിലബസിലുള്ള ഒരു സ്കൂളും തൊട്ടടുത്ത്, ചിറ്റുമലയിൽ, സെന്റ് ജോസഫ് ഇന്റർനാഷണൽ സ്കൂൾ എന്ന സി. ബി. എസ്. ഇ. സിലബസിലുള്ള മറ്റൊരു സ്കൂളും മുട്ടത്ത് സെന്റ് ജോസഫ്സ് മോഡൽ എൽ. പി. സ്കൂൾ എന്ന സ്റ്റേറ്റ് സിലബസിലുള്ള സ്കൂളും പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു. രാജ്യത്തിന് വേണ്ടി സാമൂഹിക പ്രതിബദ്ധതയുള്ള കുറഞ്ഞത് 100 വിദ്യാർഥികളെയെങ്കിലും രൂപപ്പെടുത്തുക എന്ന ലക്ഷ്യത്തോടെ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന ഈ സ്കൂളുകളിൽ ആയിരത്തിലധികം കുട്ടികൾ പഠിക്കുന്നു.
വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾക്കും സ്റ്റാഫുകൾക്കും താമസിക്കുവാൻ 45 പരം മുറികളുള്ള നാല് നിലകളുള്ള ഒരു ഹോസ്റ്റൽ കുമ്പളം ക്യാംപസിൽ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു.ഇവ കൂടാതെ ബി. എഡ് കോളേജിനും ഡി. എഡിനും അംഗീകാരം ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.വലിയാവിള ഫൗണ്ടേഷൻ വിജയകരമായി 20 വർഷം പൂർത്തിയായതിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി, സെന്റ് ജോസഫ് ഹോംസ് എന്ന പേരിൽ ഏറ്റവും പുതിയ ചാരിറ്റി പ്രോജക്ട് നടത്താൻ തീരുമാനിച്ചു. സെന്റ് ജോസഫ് ഗ്രൂപ്പ്ഓ ഫ്ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂഷന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ മാതാപിതാക്കളുടെയും അധ്യാപകരുടെയും, വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളുടെയും, അഭ്യുദയകാംക്ഷികളുടെയും, പൊതുജനങ്ങളുടെയും പങ്കാളിത്തത്തിലാണ് ഈ പ്രോജക്ട് നടപ്പിലാക്കുന്നത്.നിലവിൽ സ്കൂളിൽ പഠിക്കുന്ന രണ്ട് വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾ, രണ്ട് മുൻ വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾ, രണ്ട് അധ്യാപകർ, രണ്ട് മാതാപിതാക്കൾ, മൂന്ന്പ്ര ഥമാധ്യാപകർ, രണ്ട് ട്രസ്റ്റിമാർ, ഒരു കോൺട്രാക്ടർ എന്നിവരടങ്ങുന്ന 14 അംഗ മാനേജിംഗ് കമ്മിറ്റിയാണ് ഈ പദ്ധതിയുടെ മേൽനോട്ടം വഹിക്കുന്നത്.
ഈ പദ്ധതി പ്രകാരം, സെന്റ് ജോസഫ് സ്കൂളുകളുടെ സമീപം താമസിക്കുന്ന ഏറ്റവും അർഹരായ പാവപ്പെട്ട ഒരു കുടുംബത്തിന് വർഷത്തിൽ കുറഞ്ഞത്, രണ്ട് കിടപ്പുമുറികളും, ഒരു അടുക്കളയും, ഒരു സ്വീകരണമുറിയും, ഒരു കുളിമുറിയും, ഒരു സിറ്റ്ഔട്ടും ഉൾപ്പെട്ട 450 സ്ക്വയർ ഫീറ്റുള്ള ഒരു വീട് വച്ചു നൽകും. എല്ലാ വർഷവും സെന്റ് ജോസഫ് സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളുടെ സ്ഥാപക ദിനമായി ആഘോഷിക്കുന്ന ജൂലൈ 15 ന് താക്കോൽ ദാനകർമ്മം നിർവഹിക്കും.
